Michael E. Lessa, 49 of Lynn, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, May 15, 2016 at the NSMC / Salem Hospital following a brief illness. He was the son of Jeannette I. (Corbin) Lessa and Ernest F. Lessa, both of Lynn.
Born in Springfield and raised in Lynn, he was a graduate of Lynn English High School. Mike worked as a presser for Toomey’s Cleaners at their Boston Street, Lynn location for 33 years. He was a talented all-around handyman, who enjoyed helping his friends and neighbors. He was an avid dart player and enjoyed playing bocce in his spare time. Mike was a member of the Italian American Club of Lynn.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his daughter, Caitlyn Y. Lessa of Lynn, a sister, Suzanne O’Brien Wallace and her husband Burke of Peabody, a niece and nephew, Jaclyn O’Brien of Brighton and David O’Brien of Arlington, VA. He also leaves several aunts and uncles, Marie and Paul Thibault of Danvers, Yvonne H. and Bernard Silva of Reading, Eileen and Bill Dwyer of Chelsea, as well as many cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his son Michael E. Lessa, Jr.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Route 114 / 1-A] Salem on Friday, May 20, 2016 at 9:30 AM to be followed by his funeral mass in Ste. Anne Church, 290 Jefferson Ave., Salem at 10:30 AM. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.
