LOWELL – Richard C. Auger, 61, of Lowell and a former longtime resident of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Saturday, March 19, 2016. He passed into Eternal Life at his home surrounded by all the memories he loved and cherished. He was born in Holyoke on September 28, 1954, a beloved son of Charles J. Auger, Jr. of St. Petersburg, FL and June A. (Theroux) Auger of Springfield. He was raised in Fairview, graduated in 1972 from Chicopee Comprehensive High School and lived in Chicopee for many years before moving to Lowell in 2004. Richard served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and attained the rank of Aviation Storekeeper Petty Officer Third Class. He was currently employed in the maintenance department at the Middlesex Community College in Lowell. Besides his parents, he leaves his loving son, Nathan C. Auger of Westfield; his loving daughter, Katherine M. Auger of Reno, NV; his cherished granddaughter whom he adored, Anna Marie Auger; his loving sister, Christine L. Wyszynski and her husband, Walter, of Springfield; his loving brother, Kenneth G. Auger of South Hadley; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Auger and Theroux families. His relatives and friends are invited to attend a Service of Committal with United States Navy Military Honors on Friday, June 10, 2016 at 3 pm in the Chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001.
