Elizabeth “Libby” Burgess Rowe, 76, of Irwin County, Georgia, died Sunday, May 15, 2016, at her residence in Irwin County.
Memorial services will be held 2 PM, Saturday, May 21, 2016, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Ocilla with Mr. John Bowen officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 PM until 2 PM at the funeral home before the service.
Mrs. Rowe was born May 31, 1939, in Ocilla, Georgia, to the late Roland & Hattie Giddens Burgess. She was a resident of Florida from 1958 until 1969, then moving to Ocilla. She was a homemaker who enjoyed reading, quilting, playing bingo and her favorite was working sudoku puzzles. Mrs. Rowe was a member of Tift Avenue Missionary Baptist Church in Tifton.
She is survived by her daughters: Paula R. Shuman of Ocilla and Karen R. O’Neal and husband William of Ocilla; ten grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Roy Hansel “Hank” Rowe and a daughter: Amy R. Harper.
