Edgar W. Demers 90, formerly 120 Cass Ave. died May 15, 2016. He was the husband of the late Irene (Lamoureux) Demers. Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Eugene and Beatrice (Jarret) Demers. Edgar was a printer for Dennison Manufacturing in Framingham, MA for twenty seven years before retiring in 1988. He was a US Navy Veteran and served during WWII. Edgar enjoyed coin collecting, and playing cards. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Bruins, Red Sox and the Patriots.
He is survived by a son Edward Demers and his wife Susan, and their children Daniel and Lauren all of Bethesda, MD, two daughters Therese Greene and her husband Richard of Mendon, MA and Rita Johnson and her husband Robert of Woonsocket, a brother Normand Demers of East Providence, and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Rita Hoard and her husband Lester.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM in St. Joseph’s Church, Mendon Rd. Woonsocket. The family will receive guests at church beginning at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in Precious Blood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Edgar’s wishes were to send donations to his cousin “Abigail M. Van Meter Trust” 6435 Pine Slash Rd., Mechanicsville, VA 23116 in his memory.
