Alexander H. Bessette 91, died Saturday at Trinity Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of the late Emelie (Deveault) Bessette. Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Hubert and Arselia (Guilbeault) Bessette. Alexander was a painter and wallpaper hanger for most of his life. He was a Veteran of WWII and a member of the VFW #4342 and the Franco American War Veterans. He enjoyed painting light houses and playing the guitar.
Mr. Bessette is survived by his sons Denis Bessette and his wife Suzanne of Woonsocket, and Patrick Bessette and his wife Diane of Burrillville, a sister Lucille Beausoleil of Woonsocket, two grandchildren and three step-grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and seven step grandchildren, and nieces Joann Desrochers and her husband Leo and Marilyn Renaud. He was also the brother of the late Noella Latini.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 10:00 AM in Precious Blood Church, Carrington Ave., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham. Arrangements are under the direction of the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home.
