Barbara Flynn, 83, of Railroad St. Manville died Sunday at Cherry Hill Nursing Home in Johnston. She was the loving wife of the late William F. Flynn, Jr. who passed away in 1989. They were married for 35 years.
Born in Woonsocket she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Olga Dunayeski. She was a lifelong resident of Manville.
Barbara enjoyed playing cards and was a well-versed reader. She loved spending time at the beach and had a special place in her heart for animals especially her two furry feline companions Missy and Max.
Barbara was a devoted wife and cherished her grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons Michael P. Flynn and his wife, Marguerite, of North Smithfield and William F. Flynn, III of Manville, and a daughter Laurie A. Flynn of Westminster, Colorado. She was the mother of the late David W. Flynn who passed away in 1988 and was the mother-in-law of Kimberly Malz. She was the sister of Thomas and Michael Dunayeski and Stephanie Rafuse. She is also survived by her grandchildren Amy Goulet and her husband, Jeffery, David Flynn, Sgt. Danial Flynn U.S. Army and his wife, Chrissy, and Erik Malz her great-grandchildren Jason, Abigail, Brooke, Danial, Kevin, Madelyn and Jasper. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and their families.
Funeral services and burial were private. Memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project 150 Cambridge Park Drive, Suite 202 Cambridge, MA. 02140. Arrangements are by the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home 71 Central St. Manville.
