Wynn Johnson, 51, passed away on May 9, 2016. He was born on March 26, 1965 to Winfred and Mary Ann Johnson. He lived in Oak View, CA with Lisa, his wife of 16 years. He worked for T&T Truck and Crane Service for 32 1/2 years. A celebration of life was held on Saturday, May 14, 2016.
Wynn was known as the ‘Gentle Giant’ as he was infinitely kind and ceaselessly caring. A big man with a bigger personality. He drained tension out of any day and replaced it with his accepting warmth. He charmed every friend, acquaintance, and not-for-long stranger with his good natured humor and inviting, gut-busting laugh. He got people and it was impossible not to get him.
He was a rock to his sons, pointing them in the right direction, leading by example of how to treat a woman, and jokingly calling his boys a “honyaker” when they should have known better. He was their lighthouse guiding them through rough seas. Wynn never arrived or left without giving a bear hug and saying “Lovin’ you!”
Tracy Lawrence must have known him personally:
“You find out who your friends are
Somebody's gonna drop everything
Run out and crank up their car
Hit the gas get their fast
Never stop to think 'what's in it for me?' or 'it's way too far.'
They just show on up with their big old heart
You find out who you're friends are”
Wynn is survived by his wife Lisa Ayala-Johnson; his sons Joseph Mendez (Nydia), Garrett Ochoa, Cole Johnson, and Austen Johnson; his grandchildren Camisha Furnish, Devon Rosales, and Kaily Mendez; his mother Mary Ann Johnson; his siblings Elizabeth Johnson, Jannine Urbies, Kevin Johnson, Brad Johnson (Heidi), Lance Johnson (Holly); and nieces and nephews Devon Johnson, Brandon Johnson, Meghan Johnson, and Owen Johnson; and mother-in-law Delores Ayala; and brother and sister in-laws Billy Ayala (Rocky), Tony Ayala (Emily), Elaina (Mitch), Patty (Tod); and nieces and nephews Alisha (Phil), Corinne, Austen, Alex, Jessie, Delon, Jamin, Addy, Arely, Ona, Oliver, and Celeste.
