Obituary

BEVERLY: Frank J. Ficocello, 77, died Thursday, May 12, 2016 in the Pilgrim Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Peabody following an extended illness. He was the beloved husband of Mary Jo (Russo) Ficocello.

Born in Swampscott on December 21, 1938, he was the son of the late Michael A. and Louise E. (Cirenza) Ficocello. He had resided in Swampscott and Danvers for many years before moving to Beverly in 1997. He was a graduate of Swampscott High School class of 1957, North Shore Community College and attended Northeastern University and Bentley University.

Frank was employed at the General Electric Company in Lynn for thirty years, retiring as a quality control engineer in 1995. He was a graduate of the General Electric Apprentice Program in 1965 and was a member of the General Electric Apprentice Alumni Assoc. He was also a member of the National Rifle Assoc., Reading Rifle & Revolver Club and the Y.M.C.A. in Beverly and Salem.

In addition to his wife of thirty-two years, he is survived by three nieces, Lisa Paciulli of Danvers, Karen Bouchard and her husband, Paul of Salem and Julie Arcari Cook and her husband, Doug Cook of Magnolia; two nephews, Jay Arcari and his wife, Laura of Topsfield and Jeffrey Arcari and his wife, Holly of Gloucester; eight great-nieces and nephews, Michael and Christopher Bouchard, Ben Cook, Nicholas Arcari, Enzo Arcari, Olivia Cook, Gasparino Arcari and Oliver Arcari; three sisters-in-law, Mary Floccher and her husband, Dante of Saugus, Constance Arcari of Magnolia and Irene Russo of Tucson, AZ and several cousins and many dear friends. He was also predeceased by his brother, John M. Ficocello.

His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday in St. Margaret’s Church, Hale St., Beverly Farms at 11 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday in the Grondin Funeral Home, 376 Cabot Street, Beverly from 1 -4 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, P.O. Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5014.
