Obituary

Marjorie Mehew, 97, passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at Elmhurst Extended Care in Providence . She was the beloved wife of the late Harry G. Mehew. They were married for 44 years.

Born in Esmond, she was a daughter of Ralph and Sarah (Stubbs) Cusworth. Marjorie was a lifelong resident of Smithfield. Marjorie was a homemaker, and she was also employed at A&P Supermarket for many years. She was also a member of the Esmond Village Tenant’s Association. Marjorie was also a faithful attendee of St. Alban’s Church in North Providence, as well as a member of the Smithfield Senior Center, and the Cranston Senior Bowling League. She also deeply enjoyed gardening, as well as spending time at the beach and boating with her husband and children. She also traveled all over the world with her husband.

She is survived by her beloved daughters, Harriet Farrar and her husband Ronald of Smithfield, and Susan Crooker of Englewood, Florida, her seven grandchildren, Alan and Bradley Priestley, Pamela Rainone, Brian Farrar, Kimberley Zajehowski, and Curtis and Cameron Crooker, as well as her seven great-grandchildren, Joshua, Justin, Melanie, Rachel, Meghan, Matthew and Cody. She is predeceased by her daughter, Linda Priestley, and her siblings, Alice Hassett and Ralph W. Cusworth.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, May 18th at 11:30am in Anderson-Winfield Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Burial will follow in Acote’s Hill Cemetery, Chepachet. Visitation Wednesday from 10:30-11:30am.
