In Taunton, May 10, 2016 Patricia A. (McGuire) Slavin, Age 80, passed away unexpectedly at home. Patricia was the wife of the late Michael T. Slavin. She was born in Taunton, the daughter of the late Andrew & Stephanie (Machnik) McGuire. Patricia had resided her entire life in Taunton and East Taunton. She was a graduate of Taunton High School, Class of 1954 and also Bristol Plymouth Nursing School. Patricia worked until her retirement at the former Cardinal Cushing Hospital in Brockton. She was a communicant of Holy Family Parish where she was a Eucharistic Minister. She was also an active member of the His Land Prayer Group in Lakeville. Patricia enjoyed traveling and was primarily a devoted mother who cherished her entire family and the time she spent with her friends. Patricia leaves her loving children Michael Scott Slavin of East Taunton, Kathleen Marie Slavin of East Taunton, Fredrick Slavin of Lewis Center, Ohio, Steven Todd Slavin and his wife Kim of Assonet, Stephanie Ann Slavin and her companion Rob Menice of Roanoke, VA and Daniel Shawn Slavin and his wife Tracy of East Taunton. Patricia also leaves her seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She also leaves her sister Susan St. Goddard of NH and her late siblings Andrew, Chet, Edward, Daniel McGuire and Maureen Smith. Funeral from the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, Ma 02780 on Wednesday at 9:30 am. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Family Church in East Taunton at 11 am. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Tuesday from 4-8 pm. Burial will be in the family lot in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Taunton.
