Mr. Kenneth E. Jones, Sr., of Taunton, died unexpectedly Wednesday, May 11. He was the beloved husband of Judith A. (Cotter) Jones. He was born 77 years ago in Taunton, the son of the late Eldridge and Henrietta (Heinig) Jones. He was educated in Taunton and had been a lifelong city resident. Prior to his retirement, Ken had been employed as a contractor for Suffolk Construction in Boston for several years. He was previously a self-employed contractor. He was a member of the Shriner’s and the Carpenter’s Union. Ken enjoyed fishing and working in his yard. He was a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Parish in Taunton.
In addition to his wife, he leaves: 1 son: Kenneth E. Jones, Jr. and his wife, Nancy of Taunton; 1 brother: Gene Jones and his wife, Patricia of Dennis; 1 sister: Marilyn Welfare of Minnesota; 1 granddaughter: Regina Lopes of Taunton, and several nieces and nephews. Ken was also the brother of the late Charles, Richard and Robert Jones.
Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Monday, May 16 at 9:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Jude the Apostle Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Sunday, from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M.
