HARKINS, Joseph S. "Steve" Of Wellesley, May 9. Beloved husband of Wendelin J. Smith and the late Barbara Woodfin Harkins. Devoted father of Ruth Harkins Lawler and her husband Christopher of Wellesley. Grandfather of Hannah M. Lawler of Los Angeles, CA and Geoffrey S. Lawler of Seattle, WA. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Steve was the retired President of W.L. Bell Company of Boston; avid tennis player; Past President of the Wellesley Tennis Association; former Member and Chairman of the Wellesley Advisory Committee; Wellesley Town Meeting member for over 20 years; Founder and Board Member of the Flynn House, a home for recovering alcoholics of Boston; Board Member and Fundraiser for the Wellesley Symphony Orchestra.
