FALL RIVER… Michael Kostka, 99, of Fall River, passed away peacefully after a brief illness, with his family by his side, on May 10, 2016.
For 61 years he was the loving husband of the late Ann (Waskiewicz) Kostka.
Born in Fall River, he was a son of the late Jan and Aniela (Prutznal) Kostka.
Mr. Kostka worked for Duro Finishing for more than 30 years before retiring in 1981. He was a Communicant of St. Stanislaus Church in Fall River. He was a wonderful dad who provided wise words and advice from the heart. He quietly taught his children by the example of how he lived his life. He enjoyed working on cars, maintaining the home, fishing, and taking the family for rides in the car.
Survivors include his daughter, Carol Kostka of Fall River, two sons: Michael Kostka and his wife Patricia of Baldwinsville, NY and Thomas Kostka of West Warwick, RI, two sisters: Josephine Bonalewicz of East Providence, RI and Cecelia Banalewicz of Cumberland, RI, a brother, Milton Kostka of New Bedford, and many nieces and nephews. He was a brother of the late Stanley, William, Edward, and John Kostka and the late Stella Waskiewicz.
The funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Saturday, May 14th at 9 AM from the Boyko Memorial Funeral Home, 709 Broadway, Fall River followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Stanislaus Church, 36 Rockland St. Fall River. Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours will be held Friday from 4-7 PM.
