Janet L. (Cook) Ready, 71, of Marlboro, formerly of Hudson, died Tuesday, May 10th surrounded by her loving family at Marlboro Hospital. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, John J. Ready of Marlboro.
Janet was born in Marlboro, daughter of the late Joseph and Nellie (Prachnick) Cook. She was raised in Hudson where she attended local schools and was a 1962 graduate of Hudson High School. Janet was a dedicated healthcare provider for over 35 years in her community and was well known by many for her compassionate and loving care she gave their loved ones. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Parish in Marlboro.
Janet was a loving wife, devoted mother and an inspiration to all her grandchildren. She always looked forward to yearly vacations at Hampton Beach, NH and sitting ocean side with her toes in the sand. She always enjoyed camping trips lakeside at the White Mountains. She truly cherished the vacations with the grandchildren at Walt Disney World in Florida and any gathering which included family and friends. She will truly be remembered as a kind and giving individual who always put the interests of others first by all who loved and knew her.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her children, Jacqueline and her husband John Ryan Jr., Matthew Ready and Christopher Ready and his wife Linda. She was predeceased by her son, John Ready III. She is also survived by her siblings, Joseph Cook, Kenneth Cook, Diane McDevett and Susan Donovan along with the loves of her life, her adoring 8 grandchildren, Cody, Hailey, Austin, Alex, Jennifer, Joey, Kayla, Barry and her many nieces, nephews and friends.
A funeral service and celebration of Janet’s life will be held on Saturday May 14th at 11:00 a.m. in the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749 (www.tighehamilton.com). Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson. Calling hours will be held on Friday May 13th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
