James KC Lai (April 27, 1934 - May 9, 2016)With deep sorrow and heavy hearts, we are announcing the death of our beloved father (James Lai) at the age of 82. Our Dad passed away in his sleep at 2 am on Monday 5/9/16 at Genesis Nursing Home. He has been living there for the past 4 years since suffering a hemorrhagic stroke in April 2012. He lived in Asia (Burma, China and India) during the first half of his life (41 years) and worked as a school teacher. He can read, write and speak in 3 different languages (Burmese, Chinese and English). We came to America in 1975. The second half of his life (another 41 years) was spent in Baltimore, MD where he worked as a waiter at a Chinese restaurant from 1975-1999. During his lifetime, he was able to raise 4 children with his wife (Toy N. Lai). We lived and grew up in Charles Village & Waverly, Northwood and Towson. All 4 children are Poly graduates and college graduates who are now part of the American work force. From 2004-2008, he cherished the births of his 4 grandchildren. Your lifetime work on this earth is complete now. A job well done.
