Melba Zona (Taylor) Lame

September 17, 1925-May 9, 2016

ANDERSON--Melba Zona (Taylor) Lame, 90, of Anderson died May 9, 2016 at Community Hospital.

She was born September 17, 1925, to Golden and Saloma (Miller) Taylor in Chattanooga, Tenn. She moved to Anderson in 1943 and worked as one of the first dietary personnel at Community Hospital; later was office manager at Hoyt Wright Company for many years.

She served as a pink lady at Community Hospital until she was 86.

She was a 50 year member of Pan and Platter Home Economics Club and a long time member of St. Matthew United Methodist Church where she served as an usher and trustee.

She is survived by her three daughters, Sherry (David) Klinefelter of Watseka, IL; Debbie Hutton of Alexandria and Dee (Max) Frazee of Anderson; sister, Geraldine Hall of Signal Mt. Tenn.; four grandchildren, Amber (Eric) Simons; Keturah (Todd) Letsinger; Kimberly (Greg) Sylvester; Sierra Frazee; five great grandchildren, Dillon, Kylah, Elliana, Addison and Scarlette; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Elven Lame in 1994; son-in-law, Ed Hutton.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. on Friday at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Rev. Daryl Gilbert of St. Matthew United Methodist Church officiating.

Entombment will follow at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be two hours prior to the service.
