Mary E. (Morgan) Stone, age 96, of Brockton, died peacefully, May 8, 2016 at Merrimack Valley Health Center in Amesbury, MA. Mary was the wife of the late James C. Stone. Born in Long Island, NY, she was the daughter of the late George T. Morgan and Bertha (Forest) (Morgan) Holland. Mary was raised in Brockton, attended Sacred Heart School and was a 1939 graduate of Brockton High School. While a student at Brockton High School, she lettered in Field Hockey and was a member of the Drama Club. She had been employed at Brockton Hospital, and for over 25 years cared for patients of Dr. Stanley Mazurkie at Goddard Park Medical Associates.
Mary is survived by a son Roger F. Stone and his partner Edie Tirone of Amesbury; two grandchildren Justin and Jennifer Stone; three great grandchildren Liam, Lizzie and Zach Stone; a sister Jeannette Ennis of Falmouth; several nephews; longtime friend Joseph Whitlock of Brockton and her beloved poodle ChaCha. She was the sister of the late Virginia Regan.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Wednesday 4-7pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home Thursday at 9:30am for a funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 10:30am. Burial will follow in Melrose Cemetery.
