Bobbie "Bob" N. Webb, 90, of Tifton passed away Monday, May 9, 2016, at his residence. His funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, May 12, 2016, at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Kelltown with the Rev. Kevin Harris officiating. Mr. Webb will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery with the Rev. Andy Ring officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 11, 2016, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Mr. Webb will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Webb’s grandsons, Levi Webb, Daniel Webb, Tyler Hobby, Andrew Grimes, Gator Walker and Russ Flowers will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Kelltown, Wayne Franks, Jones Ponder and Pait Willis.
Born August 12, 1925 in Berrien County, Mr. Webb was the son of the late Mallie B. Webb and Eliza Jones Webb. He was also preceded in death by a son, Danny Webb; a daughter, Jane Grimes; a great-granddaughter, Lilly Webb; and three brothers, Neil Webb, Lemon Webb and Marcus Webb. He was a retired farmer and was the owner and operator of Bob’s Bar-B-Que for 15 years. He served in the United States Army from 1945-1947 during World War II. He was Emeritus Deacon and member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Kelltown. He was also a member of the American Legion.
Mr. Webb is survived by his wife, Joyce Golden Webb of Tifton; his children and their spouses, Steve and Wanda Webb, Philip Grimes and Beth and Scott Hobby; a daughter-in-law, Sandra Webb; his grandchildren and their spouses, Daniel Webb, Tina Cooper Spurlock, Amanda and Gator Walker, Brandi and Russ Flowers, Andrew and Lauren Grimes, Levi and Sherry Webb, Erin Rowland, Tyler Hobby, Kaleigh Hobby and Christian Whitehouse; 14 great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Willett; and a brother and sister-in-law, Hugh and Katherine Webb.
