Manuel S. Dutra, 83, of New Bedford passed away on Saturday May 7, 2016 at St. Luke's Hospital. He was the husband of Clementina (daSilva) Dutra.
Born in Feteira, Faial, Azores, the son of the late Manuel and Lucrecia Dutra, he lived in New Bedford since 1968.
Mr. Dutra was the proprietor of Horta's Restaurant in New Bedford. His passion was fishing and the sea.
Survivors include his wife; five children, Elmano M. "Al" Dutra and his wife Lee and Alda daSilva and her husband Victor, all of Dartmouth, Fernanda Dutra and Ofelia Dudley and her husband Albert, all of New Bedford, and Manuel F. Dutra and his wife Teresa of Florida; his siblings, Mario Dutra, Jose Dutra, Salome Costa, and Maria Farias, all of California; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother Eduardo Dutra.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, Wednesday at 8 AM, followed by his Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9 AM.
