Jerry Jones, 55, of Albany passed away Monday, May 9, 2016, at Phoebe-Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 12, 2016, at Albany Baptist Church with Rev. John Eron White officiating. Mr. Jones will be laid to rest next to his father at the Wilkerson residence in Ty Ty. The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 11, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Mr. Jones will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
Tony Wilkerson, Michael Tew, Steven Tew, Buddy Murrelle, Lamar Benson and John White will serve as pallbearers.
Born June 27, 1960 in Pineville, Kentucky, Mr. Jones was the son of Iva Foster Wilkerson of Ty Ty and the late Clyde Wilkerson, Jr., who died in 2014. In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by two sons, Michael Jones and Jeffrey Jones; and one brother. He was disabled and of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Kimberly Tew Jones of Albany; one son, Steven Jones of Albany; four daughters, Sierra Jones, Mckenzie Jones, Christine Tew and Cheyenne Tew, all of Albany; a brother and sister-in-law, Tony and Rita Wilkerson of Ty Ty; two sisters, Euline Maiden of Valparaiso, Indiana and Lenora Dunn of Columbus, Indiana; two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Steven and Jennifer Tew and Michael and Miranda Tew, all of Albany; and several nieces and nephews.
