Obituary

Bethany K. “Baby Girl” Joyal, 22, of Dover, NH, died suddenly, Thursday, July 7, 2005, during childbirth at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover. Bethany was born in Manchester, NH on February 17, 1983, a daughter of Richard T. and Kathy M. (Roberge) Simard. She had been a resident of Dover since 2001, formerly living in Manchester. Bethany was a graduate of Manchester Memorial High School, Class of 2001, and graduated in Grooming and Business from UNH in 2003 and 2004. Bethany had played softball at Manchester’s South Jr. Deb, and a number of years as a Granite State Rockers All-Star, with two National tournaments achieved. Bethany was an avid animal lover. She was an incredible pet groomer who planned to open her own shop, “The Ruff Kutt”. She was formerly employed at Tails Above the Rest in Manchester, All Critters Corner in Dover, and Dogs & Peoples in Portsmouth.
In addition to her parents of Manchester, she leaves her husband, Matthew R. Joyal of Dover, her son, Cole Chase Joyal of Dover, her sister, April C. Simard of Rochester, NH, her paternal grandparents, Andre and Gail Simard of Hooksett, NH, her maternal grandparents, Dave and May Shaw of Hooksett, and her great grandmother, Ruby Morse of Manchester.
Bethany is also survived by her father and mother in law, James and Raylene Joyal Sr. of Rochester, her aunts and uncles, Karen and Scott Bunker, Lauri and Edward Roberge, Cyndi and Jeff Campbell, Michele Simard-Alatti and Nick Alatti, Anita and Michael Simard, Eva and Richard Roberge, step-aunts and uncles, Jenny, Joe, Jill, Ted, Jessie Lyn and Phil, her brother in law James Joyal Jr., her grandmother in law Mary Chase, 19 cousins, many, many friends, loved ones, and her dogs, Natty, Semper and Harry.
Bethany, who was also known as, B, Beana, Babe, Mama, Squid Lips, Porkchop, and Dirtdevil, had a smile that could light up the room. She was a beautiful young woman with an incredible personality. She was a great friend to many, as she had a very loving heart. She could make anyone laugh with her witty ways. Those who knew her will miss her greatly.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, July 13th at 10:00am in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry, NH. The burial followed in the Longmeadow Cemetery in Auburn, NH. Calling hours were Tuesday evening from 5 - 8pm at the funeral home. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cole Chase Joyal, C/O Legg Mason, 2 Wall St., Manchester, NH 03101.
