Evans, GA – Chris C. “Lolo” Karamichael, 91, loving husband of Reiko Uetake Karamichael, entered into rest on Friday, May 6, 2016.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church with Father Vasile Bitere officiating. Burial will follow at Westover Memorial Park.
Chris, born in Limassol, Cyprus, arrived by boat in New York City at the age of 23. Soon after, he joined the U.S. Army and was stationed in Japan where he met the love of his life. After serving in the Korean War, he retired with 22 years of service. He continued his career in Civil Service as General Manager of various Officers Clubs, the last being at Fort Gordon Officers Club. He was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, AHEPA Greek Organization and the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry in Augusta.
Chris has always been known for his generosity to all his family and friends. He loved life and enjoyed entertaining at home. His spirit and big heart will be thoroughly missed by all.
In addition to his wife Reiko, survivors include his son, Stephen Karamichael (Anneliese) of Hoover, AL; daughter, Dina Wise of Acworth, GA; sister, Gabriela Costa Kolias; five grandchildren: Ryan Karamichael, Christopher Wise, Michelle Wise, Nicole Karamichael and Matthew Wise; and two nephews, John Kolias (Terry) and Michael Kolias (Pam).
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at the funeral home.
