Claire F. (Taylor) Varraso, 84 of Abington, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday May 5th at her home. She was the wife of the late James E. Varraso.
She was born in Boston, brought up in Quincy, daughter of the late Samuel and Mary (McCarthy) Taylor.
Claire was a retired military housewife, who worked various jobs. She loved animals, especially dogs.
She is survived by her children, Deborah (Alfred) Smith of Middleboro, Gale Varraso (Darryl Stoddard) of Abington, Cindy Varraso of Middleboro and Sherry Varraso (Paul Flaherty) of FL., her grandchildren, Daniel (Michele) Manter, Kelly (Roy) Lawer, Jeffrey (Grace) Manter, Ryan O’Rourke, Meagan (Andy) McPherson, James (Dani-Lyn) Sedleski, Alex, Nick, and Julia Flaherty, her great grandchildren, Matthew Lawer, Evan O’Rourke, Emily Lawer, Colton McPherson, Philip Sedleski and Meadow Manter, her sisters, Mary (Marie) Pritchard, Lorraine (Joseph) Heffernan and Donna (Henry) Schaffer; also many nieces & nephews.
Her funeral services will be held on Thursday May 12th at 10:00AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth St. (Rt 58 at the rotary circle) Whitman. Burial will follow in the St. James Cemetery, Whitman. Visitation will be held on Wednesday May 11th from 5:00-8:00PM.
