James Joseph Conlin Jr.

MYSTIC: James Joseph Conlin, Jr., 70, of Mystic died Friday, May 6, 2016 at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in New London.

He was born on October 17, 1945 in New Haven, the son of James and Joanna (Coughlin) Conlin. Jim was in the U.S. Navy in 1962 and was honorably discharged.

He has been a Mystic resident since 2001. Jim was a self-employed insurance agent for 40 years and more recently worked in security at Mystic Seaport for the last 14 years. He enjoyed UCONN women’s basketball, kayaking, biking, enjoyed dining out and taking in movies, and enjoyed traveling to Cape Cod.

He is survived by his children, Nicole Conlin Clark of East Haven, Cherie Oman of Preston, Lawrence Papacoda and his wife Laura of Clinton, and Ryan Conlin of Mystic, and grandchildren Racheal, Natalie, Patricia, Jacob, Corrine, Marlayna, and Meadow, as well as his sister Mary Harvey and her husband Roy of Beacon Falls. He is also survived by his significant other, Barbara Bresette of Mystic.

A celebration of Jim’s life will be held at Latitude 41 Restaurant, 105 Greenmanville Avenue in Mystic on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 from 5-7 P.M.

Gifts in Memory of Jim may be made to the Mystic Seaport Museum, 75 Greenmanville Avenue, Mystic, Connecticut 06355. A gift made in Jim’s name will go toward The Mystic Seaport Summer Camp Scholarship fund.
