Obituary

Cynthia (Vincola) Hatch, 85, of Whitman was called home the morning of May 4th after a period of declining health.

Cynthia was born and raised in Newton, the eldest daughter of the late David & Pauline (Patton) Vincola.

She attended Newton schools and graduated from Newton High School in 1949 where after she modeled and worked for an insurance company.

She was the wife of 54 years to the late Robert C. Hatch, and the loving mother to three sons and a daughter-in-law, David S. & Joyce Hatch, Bradford C. Hatch, and Christopher P. Hatch. She also leaves behind a sister Natalie Hope of Marlborough, and a brother and sister-in-law, L David and Nancy Vincola of Wenham, along with being the loving aunt to several nieces and nephews.

Cynthia was a proud 50+ year member of the Pilgrim Chapter No 89, Order of the Eastern Star, and an active member of the First Congregational Church in Whitman, where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday school. Her hobbies included baking, gardening, reading, walking and biking. She was also an Enterprise newspaper carrier for 9 years, and enjoyed spending time in the summer on Cape Cod.

A private graveside service for family members will be held on Tuesday May 10th at 11:00, followed by a Celebration of Life reception at Crispi’s Italian Cuisine, 136 Broad St. Bridgewater, MA to which all are welcomed to attend.
