Born February 23, 1947 in Tifton, Linda was the daughter of the late Preston Henry Yawn and Bernice Lee. She was also preceded in death by her three brothers, Carl Yawn, Larry Yawn and Bobby Yawn. She was a retired waitress.
Linda was a strong and determined woman who valued each and every day the Lord gave to her; she never let life get her down no matter the circumstances. She loved reading, crocheting and spending time with her family and friends. She is dearly loved and cherished by those who were around her.
Linda is survived by the father of her children, Gene Altman; two sons, a daughter, a son-in-law, and a daughter-in-law, Danny and Liza Altman, Travis Altman and Sheryl Newbern, and De and Rodney Chappell; and six grandchildren, Angelica, JJ, Nate, Christina, Kaylie and Nathan. She is also survived by two half-brothers, Preston Yawn and Jay Lee.

The memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 7 at New Covenant Assembly of God in Cordele, located at 2608 Georgia Highway 90 S, Cordele, GA 31015. The family will receive friends and family starting at 6 p.m. and the memorial service will start at 7 p.m.
