West Boylston
Melvin J. Quigley, 89, of 178 Worcester St. passed away peacefully on Friday, July 8 at home. He leaves his wife of 65 years, Grace D. (Daudelin) Quigley; a son, John P. Quigley of West Boylston; three daughters, Catherine L. and her husband Robert Hebert of Claremont, NH, Margaret Q. and her husband Alan Farwell of West Boylston and Mary P. and her husband James Pignataro of Shrewsbury; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. A sister, Eileen Nelson, predeceased him.
He was born in St. Margarets, Prince Edward Island, son of Leo and Mary (O’Hanley) Quigley and graduated from Quincy High School and lived many years in Windsor, VT, moving to West Boylston eight years ago.
Melvin was a machinist for Cone Automatic Machine Co. in Windsor, VT for many years, before retiring. He was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, July 13, from FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 1 West Boylston St. with a Mass at 1 p.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 111 Worcester. The burial will be at the convenience of the family in Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Calling Hours are Tuesday, July 12, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
