Obituary

Paul A. Hunchard, 92, of Franklin passed away peacefully at Milford Regional Medical Center on May 4 surrounded by his family. He was the husband of the late Yvette D. (Paquette) Hunchard who died in 1989.

Born in Franklin, March 25, 1924, the son of the late Joseph V. and Mary (Chestercove) Hunchard, Mr. Hunchard was a lifelong Franklin resident.

Mr. Hunchard attended local schools and had worked for the Town of Franklin School Department in the maintenance department for 20 years before retiring.

He had previously operated Hunchard’s Veterans Auto Body in Franklin for many years and prior to that had been machinist.

Paul served in the Coast Guard during World War II attaining the rank of Seaman First Class.

He was a lifelong member of the Franklin Rod and Gun Club and was lover of all animals.

He is survived by his sons, David Hunchard of Franklin and Paul A. Hunchard, Jr. and his wife Shannon of Walpole.

He is also survived by his grandson Paul Hunchard.

Paul is also survived by his brother Edward Hunchard and his wife Jean of Franklin and was the brother of the late William, Joseph, and Francis Hunchard.

His funeral will be held on Monday, May 9 from the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 131 Main Street, Franklin at 9:15 followed by a funeral mass in St. Mary’s Church at 10:00.

Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Calling hours will be on Sunday from 4-8 p.m.
