Abington – Doris V. Small 94, formerly of Boston, died Wednesday May 4 after a period of failing health.
Born and raised in Quincy, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Lillian (Hendrickson) Small and had attended Quincy Schools.
Prior to her retirement in 1987, she had worked several years as office manager for the Bloom, South and Gurney Tile Company.
She had been a long time resident of Boston and had enjoyed vacationing in New Hampshire and Florida.
She had enjoyed traveling and had loved cook and entertain her family and many friends.
She is survived by her loving nephew Bob Small and his wife Teresa of Abington, and her great nieces and nephews Stacey Small, Nicole Jenkins and her husband Ron and Gregory Garrett and his wife Lauren. She was predeceased by her brothers Robert, David, Donald and Harry Small, her niece Karen Garrett and her longtime companion of over 35 years Arthur Mason.
Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours to be held Friday May 13 from 5:00-7:00 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman, with a Memorial Service to follow at 7:00 PM.
