Blanca Eva Figueredo, 85, a resident of Lawrence, MA, passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at the Sutton Hill Center in North Andover surrounded by her family.
Born in Oriente, Cuba, Blanca was educated in Cuba and then went on to spend time in Spain. She came to Lawrence in 1980. Blanca had worked at Lucent Technologies for many years retiring in the late 1990’s. Besides enjoying reading and cooking, Blanca loved spending time with her family, especially her sister Luz Maria Puentes whom she helped to take care of. Blanca was full of life and a very giving person who would always be there to do errands for her neighbors. She was known for knowing everyone’s name and birthday as well as having great insight into the names of all the actors and actresses in shows, especially Spanish Soap Operas.
Blanca was fascinated with Spanish and British history. She loved to dance and was very fond of her beloved parrot “Kuka”. Blanca was a long time attendant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Lawrence.
The daughter of the late Ricardo Figueredo and Maria Soto, family members include her nephew Ricardo A. Figueredo whom she raised and adored. She had also raised her late niece Isabel Maria Figueredo. Blanca is also survived by her sisters Luz Maria Puentes of Haverhill, MA, Berta Figueredo of Spain and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was also the sister of the late Luis and Ciro Figueredo.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at 10:00 A.M in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 300 Haverhill St., Lawrence, MA. Burial will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, also in Lawrence, MA.
