Sunny Kallamparampil Abraham, beloved son and servant of the church, social activist and businessman, passed to his Heavenly abode on Friday, April 29, 2016 at the age of 72. During his earthly abode, he had lived and worked in Boston, Ranni and Trivandrum as researcher, businessman, and insurance executive.
Church and community service were his passion in life. At various points, as an active member and leader, he was instrumental in furthering the work of the following organizations: Knanaya Yuvajana Samajam, Malankara Suriyani Knanaya Associatio, North American Knanaya, Ranni to Manjinikara threerthadanam (Pilgrim Walk), Lions Club Ranni, Kerala Association of New England, and SALT Association Ranni.
During his lifetime, he had spent innumerable hours in the service of Knanaya Community in India and the USA. At the time of his passing, he was actively supporting the work of St. Stephen’s Knanaya Church, Boston as its Vice President. He was an alumini (B.Sc. Physics) of St Berchmans College, Changanassery.
Sunny leaves behind his wife Leelamma (Perumaccheril, Chingavanam) and following children (all based in Boston) Prima & Sunil Vazhayil, Leya and Projoei Kallamparampil, Helma ad DN. Anup Vazhayil and Smitha Kallamparampil. He is also survived by eight grandchildren. His siblings, Abraham Jacob (Baby, Bosoton), K. A. Thomas (Thomaschan, Ranni), Rev. Fr. Punnoose Kallamparamapil (Boston), Ammukutty Purakal (Ranni), Remani Thamarapalli (Mazhukeer), and Valsa Vazhayil (California).
Visitation and Funeral Service to be held on Sunday, May 1, 2016 at St. Stephen’s Knanaya Church, 182 Main Street, Maynard, MA during the hours of 9:30 A.M. and 7:00 P.M. and will be held on Sunday, May 8th at St Thomas Knanaya Church, Mannamarathy, Ranni, India.
