NEWTONVILLE: Diana L. (Gird) Dwyer, age 66, a former Medfield resident and longtime real estate broker, died peacefully on Wednesday morning, May 4, 2016, at her Newtonville home. She was the devoted wife of Kevin Dwyer for 34 years.
Born in Brighton, she was a daughter of Eileen (Sites Gird) Simons of Newton and the late Walter Gird. Diana was raised in Newton Highlands and was a graduate of Newton South High School. Diana obtained her real estate license and shortly thereafter established her own agency, World of Real Estate in Newton.
Diana and Kevin had married in 1982, and eight years later settled in Medfield with their young family. Diana soon joined the team at Medfield Properties where she remained until her retirement and move to Newtonville in 2010. Always an outgoing lady with a warm smile, Diana enjoyed spending time at her vacation home in Falmouth, particularly when surrounded by her much loved family.
She is survived by Kevin; their sons, Adam and his wife Vanessa of Newton, and Casey and Travis, both of South Boston; their beautiful granddaughter Teagan; her mother, Eileen and stepfather, Clay; a brother, William Gird and his wife Jeannie of Newton; two sisters, Donna Boulay and her husband Harry of Naples, FL, and Cheryl Hutchinson and her husband David of Holliston; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may visit with Diana’s family at the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street at Natick Common, on Saturday, May 7th from 2 – 4PM.
