Edward E. Widberg age 79 of Canton passed away May 4th at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. Born in Norwood, he was a lifelong resident of Canton. Edward was a member of the last class to attend the Crane School in Canton, graduated from Canton High Class of 1954 and Newbury College. After he graduated from high school, Edward served in the United States Coast Guard for 20 years. He worked for Draper Brothers in Canton for 10 years before working as a Dispatcher for the Canton Police Department for 1 year and Sharon Police Department for 10 years before retiring. He was a member of the American Legion Post #24 in Canton, the D.A.V, and the V.F.W. In his spare time he enjoyed boating, crossword puzzles and solitaire.

Widberg and his wife Rachel of Stoughton and William P. Widberg and his wife Andrea of Canton. Brother of Arthur and Allen Widberg both of Canton and Carl Widberg of Hull. Also survived by 7 grandchildren. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Monday 4-8 pm. Relatives and friends invited to attend a funeral service at the funeral home Tuesday morning at 11 am. Burial Canton Corner Cemetery.
