Louis M. Ventura, Jr. a resident of Woburn for most of his life, passed away peacefully April 30, 2016 at the Keystone Center in Leominster following a lengthy period of declining health. He was 73 years of age. Born in Boston he was the son of the late Louis M. and Mary (Marandi) Ventura.
Louis was raised and educated in Woburn and was member of the Woburn High School graduating class of 1962. He worked for many years as a graphic arts designer in the advertisement department of the Jordan Marsh Company. Louis could always be found hanging out in Woburn Center at the Best Gas Station where he enjoyed socializing with customers as they came in for service. He was a great story teller and could engage in conversation on any topic. He was a veracious reader and was always up to date with current events. Louis also had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed being a bit of a prankster. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox, however his greatest joy was his family who he was so proud of.
Louis is survived by his devoted children, Jennifer Elderd of Lunenburg and Louis M. Ventura III of Woburn. He was the loving grandfather of Danielle Simpson of Nashua, NH, and Tyler Simpson of Lunenburg. Brother of the late Phyllis Ventura, Simon Ventura and his surviving wife Nancy of Laconia, NH, and Anna Ventura. Uncle of Louis "Marty" Ventura of Laconia, NH, Nancy Johnson of Gilford, NH, Richard Ventura of Tewksbury, and Sam Ventura of Hooksett, NH.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a funeral services conducted in the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN, Monday, May 9th, at 11 am. Visiting hours will be held Sunday from 4 thru 8 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.
