William "Bill" Haywood Gassett, 62 of East Bridgewater, Massachusetts passed away unexpectedly in his home the night of May 2, 2016. He was the beloved husband of Janet (Tirrell) Gassett.
Son of the late Walter and Isabel (Robertson) Gassett formerly of Hanson, he grew up in Hanson, MA and was a resident of East Bridgewater for the last 28 years.
He worked for many years in the printing industry, including Halliday Lithograph of Hanover and Pre-Press of Plymouth and most recently in customer service at Hub Pen of Braintree.
He was an avid home brewer and member of the South Shore Brew Club. He also enjoyed fishing, wood working, volleyball, travel and was a frequent blood donor to the American Red Cross.
In addition to his wife Janet he is survived by his daughter Alison, and his son Andrew. He was also the brother of Linda Lawson of Plympton, MA, Laurel MacKinnon of Plymouth, MA, and Walter Gassett Jr. of Fort Meyers, FL.
Visiting hours will be held Friday May 6th from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman, MA. Services will be held Saturday, May 7th at 11a.m. at the same location.
