Suzanne C. (Longval) Silveira, 69, of Wakefield, passed away peacefully at Epoch of Melrose on Sunday, May 1, 2016, following a long illness. She was the wife of Joseph D. Silveira with whom she shared 38 years of marriage.
Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Edward A. and Anna A. (Thibault) Longval. Sue was a graduate of Marion Court and first worked for First National Bank of Boston. Married to Joe in 1978, she had a varied career and later worked in customer service for Gillette in Boston, Austin Prep., and the Salem Housing Authority.
People always were drawn to Sue, because of her engaging personality and genuine interest in others.
In addition to her husband Joe, she is survived by two sisters, Priscilla A. “Penny” Xiarhos and her husband Louis of Harrington, DE, and Pamela M. Plummer and her husband Charles of Groveland, four nieces and nephews, Theodore Xiarhos, Amanda Xiarhos and her husband Chris Lee, Cameron & Luke Plummer as well as a grand-niece, Keely and many friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to her calling hours on Thursday, May 5, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Route 114 / 1-A]. Funeral services in the funeral home will be on Friday at 11:30 A.M. A committal service will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
