Obituary

 



Mrs. Dorothea R. (Shepard) Charbonneau, of Taunton, died Monday, May 2 in the Tremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Wareham, following a lengthy illness.  She was the beloved wife of the late William Charbonneau.  She was born 92 years ago in Taunton, the daughter of the late Ernest and Margaret (McIsaac) Shepard.  She was educated in Taunton and had been a lifelong city resident.  Prior to her retirement, Dorothea had been employed as a Teacher’s Aide for the City of Taunton School System for 20 years.  She was a U.S. Navy veteran, have served with the WAVES during World War II.  She enjoyed crafts and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Parish in Taunton.


     She leaves: 3 sons: William Charbonneau and his wife, Diane of Florida,David A. Charbonneau and his wife, Sharon of Taunton, Richard Charbonneau and his wife, Sheila of Raynham; 1 daughter: Nancy Perry and her husband, Amos of W.Wareham; 14 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.  Dorothea was also the sister of the late Kenneth Shepard and Bernice Emond.



          Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Friday, May 6 at 9:00 A.M.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Jude the Apostle Church at 10:00 A.M.  Interment will be in St. Francis Cemetery.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend.  Visiting Hours will be held on Thursday, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M.
