Elisa M. (Gilberti) Rainha, age 93, of Winchester, passed away on Monday, May 2 at the Winchester Hospital after a short illness. She was the beloved wife for 46 years of the late Manuel Rainha, until his passing in 1994.
Mrs. Rainha was born in Italy on July 28, 1922, the daughter of the late Carmella (Iannuzzi) and Biagio Gilberti. She was the loving mother of Judy Whitney and her husband Bob, and Jean Bussichella and husband Joe, all of Winchester. Elisa is also lovingly survived by 5 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and was preceded in death by 4 siblings.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather at Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St., Winchester on Friday, May 6 @ 10AM, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, 155 Washington St., at 11:30 AM. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Winchester. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Northeast Metropolitan Regional Vocational High School, 100 Hemlock Rd., Wakefield, MA 01880.
