Joseph H. Jodoin, 86, of Dartmouth died Tuesday July 5, 2005 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness. He was the husband of Claire M. (Surprenant) Jodoin.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Joseph and Anna (Gosselin) Jodoin, he had lived in various parts of the country and in Framingham before returning to New Bedford 11 years ago.
He was a communicant of St. Julie Billiart Church in North Dartmouth.
Mr. Jodoin served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict before retiring after 27 years of service. He later worker as an automobile manufacturer's agent in the New England region, and also worked as a Navy Recruiter in Framingham.
He was a member of the Kiwanis Club, the Mattapoisett Knights of Columbus Damien Council and the Framingham Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife; a brother, Leo Jodoin of Dartmouth; and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Gerard Jodoin, Paul Jodoin, Jean Jodoin, Bertha Tardif, Lillian Donnelly and Rita Jodoin.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, Saturday July 9, 2005 at 9 AM. Funeral Mass at St. Julie Billiart Church at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Friday July 8, 2005 from 5-7 PM. Burial with Military Honors will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that Masses be offered in his memory.
