William D. Perry, Sr., 80, of New Bedford died Sunday May 1, 2016 after a brief illness. He was the husband of Anna M. (Santos) Perry.
A lifelong resident of New Bedford, he was the son of the late Frances (Hecner) Perry and Louis D. Perry, Sr.
He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Assumption Church. He was the recipient of the Marian Medal from the Diocese of Fall River.
Mr. Perry loved spending time with his family and friends, and was very devoted to his family. He was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. His favorite past time was walking around Buttonwood Park.
He is survived by his wife Anna; three children, Kathleen Eubanks and her husband Stephen, William D. Perry, Jr. and his wife Laura, and JoAnn Taylor and her husband Eric; his brother, John B. Perry; his sister, Carol Merlau; six grandchildren, Marcus, Christine, Jaime, Trevor, Brianna, and Jayden; and many nieces, nephews, Godchildren, friends, and neighbors.
He was predeceased by his sister, Dorothy Guilherme and his brother, Louis D. Perry, Jr.
His Funeral will be held on Saturday at 8 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by his Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 9 AM.
