Loretta J. (Buckley) Connolly, a lifelong Charlestown resident, entered into eternal life on Sunday, May 1, 2016 at the Spaulding Nursing and Therapy Center in the North End. She was 81 years old.
Loretta was born in Boston on August 2, 1934, a daughter of the late John Buckley and Josephine (LeBlanc) Buckley. She grew up in Charlestown where she attended St. Mary's Parochial School and graduated from Charlestown High School. Loretta worked for the New England Telephone Company as a Business Services Agent, retiring after more than 30 years of service. Loretta was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and the Golden Age Center of Charlestown.
Loretta is the beloved wife of 32 years to George A. Connolly. She is the loving sister of the late Marie Kane and Patricia Kane. Loretta is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Loretta's Funeral on Friday, May 6, 2016 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. Her burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. There are no visiting hours.
