Estelle Banston Walker Jones, age 85, passed away at Graceland Nursing Home in Oxford, MS , on July 7, 2005, following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Jones, the daughter of the late Benjamin David Bankston and Lucy Estelle Goodwin Bankston, was a homemaker and a member of Sylva Rena Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends at Seven Oaks Funeral Home from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Friday evening, July 8, 2005. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, July 9, 2005, in Henry Chapel at Seven Oaks Funeral Home with Brother James West officiating. Interment will follow in Walker Cemetery off Highway 32 West of Water Valley. Serving as pallbearers are: Fletcher Fly, Steve Moore, William Fly, J. C. Womble, Bennie Fly, and Bill Norris.
Mrs. Jones is survived by two daughters, Abbie Walker Coffman of Brentwood, TN and Nancy Jones Hendricks of Oxford, MS: one son, Herman Glenn Jones of Water Valey, MS and two sisters: Edna Pearl Bankston Watson and Ellen Merle Bankston Bolen both of Water Valley, MS. She leaves nine grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were husbands: first, William Alvie Walker (1938) and second, William Herman Jones (1988): daughter Gladys Walker Murphy and son Robert Steve Jones.
