Obituary

Raymond E. Cournoyer Sr. 91, of Woonsocket died peacefully Sunday, May 1, in Oakland Grove Health Center surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Florence (Garceau) Cournoyer. He was born in Woonsocket, a son of the late Josephat and Eva (Lizotte) Cournoyer. Mr. Cournoyer was a World War II army veteran. He worked in the maintenance department of the Buckland Bldg. in Woonsocket and worked for the Woonsocket Education Dept. for many years retiring in 1988. He also served as a director on the board of the Blackstone Federal Credit Union for many years. He is survived by a son; Raymond Cournoyer Jr and his wife Pauline of Woonsocket, two daughters; Susan Pincince and her husband Normand of Bradenton, FL, and Constance Kramer and her husband Robert of Port St. Lucie, FL, nine grandchildren; Cheryl, Timothy, Paul, Michele, Richard, Elizabeth, Lisa, Joshua and Norman, and six great grandchildren. He was also the brother of the late Leo, Aldor, and Norman Cournoyer.
His funeral will be held Friday at 9:30AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St, Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, Park Ave. Woonsocket. Burial with military honors will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
