Andrew Leo Laroche, 90, of Haverhill, MA, formerly of East Hampstead, NH, passed away Wednesday April 27, 2016, in Haverhill Crossing in Haverhill, MA. He was born in Lawrence, MA on December 5, 1925, a son of Alfred Laroche and Victoria (Ward) Michaud. Andrew was a devoted husband father grandfather and great grandfather. He was a WWII veteran of the US Navy and retired from Bolta division of General Tire in Lawrence, Ma. He was very involved in the Knights of Columbus and was a past Grand Knight and past District Deputy for the Knights where he was also employed as an insurance agent. He was a member of the Greater Haverhill Art Association and was an accomplished and prolific artist who created dozens of oil paintings and wood carvings. Andrew was very involved in his church; St. Anne in Hampstead and was also an overnight volunteer counselor at Lazarus House in Lawrence, MA. Andrew enjoyed hunting, cross-country skiing, painting, woodcarving, and was a very amateur home-improver. He was a devoted buddy/babysitter for his grandkids and great-grandkids. He loved his pool but hated yard work.
He is survived his son, Andrew L. Laroche Jr. and his wife Debra of Brentwood, NH; his daughter, Raelene Hornby and husband John of N. Kingston, RI; five grandchildren, Danielle, Nicole, Andrea, Rebecca, & Elizabeth; great-grandchildren, Luke, Landon, Joshua, Adelyn, Rosalie, and Elias. Andrew was predeceased by his daughter Cheryle (Laroche) Pelletier and his wife Winifred (Zahn) Laroche.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 10:30 am in St. Anne's Church, Emerson Ave., Hampstead, NH. The burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Gilcreast Rd, Londonderry, NH. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, MA/NH Chapter 166 River Road- Suite 210 Bedford, NH 03110.
