Preston Raines, 35, of Fernandina Beach, FL passed away Sunday, April 24, 2016.
Preston was born April 11, 1981 in Snellville, GA. Preston attended Greenbrier High School in Evans, GA where he played soccer and ran cross country. Preston attended and graduated from the University of Georgia Terry College of Business in 2003 where he was a member of Theta Chi Fraternity. Preston moved to Fernandina Beach, FL eight months ago from Dunwoody, GA.
Preston is survived by his parents, Lewis D. (Don) Raines, Jr. and Nancy Raines, of Fernandina Beach, FL; two brothers, Andrew Raines and his wife Crystal of Norcross, GA and Nathan Raines of Atlanta, GA; his grandfather, Lawrence B. Ashman of Leesburg, FL; his five aunts and uncles; and his seven cousins.
He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Lewis D. Raines, Sr. and Margaret Raines and by his maternal grandmother, Janet Ashman.
Preston enjoyed being outdoors, whether it was hunting with friends in South Georgia, or relaxing on the beach with family. He was a proud supporter of the University of Georgia Bulldogs football team and enjoyed watching and talking about college football every fall. Preston was also an avid soccer fan, his favorite team being Manchester United, and watched as many games as he could. Preston was a loving friend, son, and brother and will be remembered for his outgoing personality.
A casual gathering of friends and family to remember Preston will be held at the Savannah Rapids Pavilion in Martinez, GA on May 15, 2016 at 2:00 pm.
