
WAYLAND: Elfriede (Grzewca) Pease, 93, died peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, April 28, 2016 following a period of declining health.
She was born in Poland on June 14, 1922 the daughter of the late Vincent Grzewca and Victoria (Herberta) Grzewca.
Elfriede is survived by her children, Harry Hans Pease of Jamaica Plain and Elvira Maria Smith of Wayland. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and several close cousins. She was the wife of the late Royce Arnold Pease.
Elfriede spent her earlier years in Poland and Germany and came to America in 1951. She settled in Brighton and has lived in Wayland for the past 22 years. She was an accomplished gymnast and competitive during the Hitler regime while living in Germany. She enjoyed cooking, sharing stories, many trips to Dunkin Donuts and time spent with her family.
Visitations will be held on Monday, May 2, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte 30), Wayland.
Her funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at 10:30 am.
Private family interment will take place at a later date.
