Rebecca Moore Robinson “Becky”, age 93, a 70-year resident of Winchester, MA, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2016 at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading, MA. She was the beloved wife for 62 years of the late Theodore Bliss Robinson, until his passing in 2008.
Born in Medford, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence Badger and Rachel Bearce Moore. Becky was a graduate of Medford High School and Jackson College (now Tufts) and was a member of Alpha Xi Delta sorority.
In Winchester, Mrs. Robinson was employed for many years at the Winchester National Bank and then Winchester Savings Bank as Assistant Treasurer and as an IRA specialist.
A dedicated volunteer, Becky was a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader, PTA Treasurer and vice president, member of the Winchester Unitarian Society, where she was the Sunday School Superintendent and Bazaar treasurer, Brewster Park Club treasurer, Lawrence Memorial Hospital volunteer and board member, Winchester En Ka Society member for 50 years and club treasurer. She was an avid Red Sox and Patriot’s fan, and loved spending time on the Cape in Brewster.
Becky will be remembered as a gracious, kind, funny and wicked smart lady who wanted the best for family, customers and those around her.
She was the loving mother of Nancy Russell of SC, Carolyn Colgate (Craig) of UT and David Robinson (Annette Carhart) of UT, and the devoted grandmother of Robert L. Russell (Samantha), Rebecca R. Price (Scott), Stephen H. Colgate (Dana), and Christie C. Stevens (Yug) and 8 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by a sister, Joan Evans, sister-in-law, Joan Cole, numerous nieces and nephews, dear friend Janice Russell and all her helpers from Comfort Keepers. A graveside service will be held at a later date.
