ASHLAND – Donald E. “Donnie” Burns, 46, formerly of Salem, died unexpectedly on Monday, April 25, 2016.
Born February 13, 1970 in Upper Darby, PA, he was raised in Salem and graduated from Salem High School with the class of 1988. Don graduated from North Shore Community College and has continued his education by taking many classes over the years. He spent his entire career in software and retail sales, previously worked at Taxware, International. Most recently, he worked as a salesman at Bob’s Discount Furniture in Natick. Donnie loved sports, fishing and spending time with his family, especially with his son.
Devoted father of Colin Burns; loving son of Christine “Pat” (Fletcher) Burns and her husband Doug Hayward of Beverly; cherished brother of Jennifer Lynch of Beverly, Tara Walters and her husband Scott of Salem; beloved uncle of Cameron Secorsky of Boston; loving friend and longtime companion of Leila. He is also survived by his aunts, Lori Holzmueller and Mary Fletcher of PA; his lifelong mentor and friend, Rich Cowdell ; also many cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Donald E. Burns, Sr.
Memorial visitation will be held Thursday, May 5, 2016 from 1-3PM at the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem. A celebration of Donnie’s life will follow at the Franco-American Club, 44 Park Street, Beverly.
