Obituary

Beverly Jean Anderson, age 85 of Kennewick and a former Prosser resident, entered into rest on April 22, 2016 at Trios Health in Kennewick. She was born on March 1, 1931 to Lester Eugene and Irma M. (Swick) Wight in Tacoma where she was raised and educated and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1949. After high school she attended and graduated from Business College and worked as the College Chairman’s secretary. She later became the executive secretary for Dale Carnegie of Dale Carnegie Club International.

Beverly and Frank Anderson were married in Tacoma on June 23, 1951 and made their home in Port Orchard until moving to Kennewick in 1959. She worked for Columbia Basin College as well as Kennewick General Hospital as Food Service Supervisor for ten years.

Beverly attended first United Methodist Church in Kennewick for forty years and Prosser United Methodist Church for eight years. She was a member of Rebekah Lodge since 1982 and the Althea Chapter of Kennewick. She was active in PTA, Columbians Drum and Bugle Corp and was a 4-H leader. She loved gardening, embroidery, cooking, art (oil painting and ceramics), traveling and was an avid reader.

Beverly is survived by her sons, Tom Anderson of Prosser and Michael E. Anderson of Kennewick; her daughter, Terri Jean Jackson of Renton, WA; six grandchildren, Christopher and Justin Jackson, Ryan and Rachel Anderson, and Nicholas and Sean Anderson; and great-grandchildren, Elijah, Francis Marie and Camden Jackson and Makayla and Conor Anderson. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Frank Anderson, and her brothers, Ralph and Richard Wight.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 30, 2016 a Mueller’s Funeral Home, 1401 S. Union Street, in Kennewick. Inurnment will follow at Desert Lawn Cemetery.
