Janice L. (Reed) Hankins, 57, of New Bedford, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 with her family by her side. She was the wife of Larry J. Hankins. Born in New Bedford, she was daughter of Royal R. Reed of New Bedford and the late Jeannette G. (Morris) Reed, she had lived in New Bedford and Fall River for most of her life. She was a Communicant of Church of the Good Shepherd, Fairhaven. Mrs. Hankins was a loving mother and wife. She enjoyed working in her garden, crocheting and arts and crafts.
Including her husband and father, survivors include 3 sons: Larry J. Hankins, Jr. of Somerset, Shane B. Sturgeon of New Bedford and Jason P. Hankins of Somerset; 3 daughters: Janelle L. Hankins of Worcester, April A. Medeiros of Fall River and Renee' C. Sturgeon of Worcester; 12 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, April 30, 2016 at the Potter Funeral Home at 11:00 A.M.
Visitation will be from 9-11 A.M., at the funeral home, prior to the service.
Burial will be private.
